Penrose's madness

The image is extremely poetic and the point of view engages me to think about the scenery and how I relate to that space. It feels like a crossroads, not only visually but mentally. The bright middle is reminiscent of that meditative state of decision making and so evokes times in life where decisions are made (or how we could be led down one path while knowing there is another).

It looks like something out of a video game (so it initially made me doubt whether this place was real or not), because of the amount of editing and manipulation that has been done on it and the boarder that's been put onto it. I'm not sure if that was the point or not, the image itself gives me no answer. All of the colors in the photo are a bit over saturated with blue. The greens are also too yellow. The darks are so dark that detail is lost and the white are so white that, again, information is lost. That harsh contrast also make it hard for me to focus on anything other than the center. If the center area was to be some sort of holy space, I'm sure there are better ways to execute that other than blowing those whites up.

Overall, it's a pleasing photograph that brings some calmness/inner peace.
