There is always something of the fairytale about zardo's works. Not the cute watered down versions but the cautionary tales they were meant to be.
This image is no exception, and wonderfully done it is. The image is not highly unique as it has all the hall marks of the artists own style, wich is very rarely deviated from. However the image is striking and seems to tell of the start of a story. The opressive sky sets off the green of the foliage which shows up wonderfully against the details captured in the cobbles and the bricks.
Overall this is a very strong image that suits the artists style and although I would like to see more varation in style this is truely a well executed piece of work. Well done.
This work is a wonder of speaking words and emotions. It truly has a dark effect- almost as though it is the cover of a new horror novel on the shelf. The lighting is well executed. The fact that there are no people in this street almost creates a feeling of abandonment in the photograph. On the right side, there can be seen the almost distorted view of the doorway; it is leaning, and the slight angle adds to the effect of a subtle, creeping darkness. It does, however, almost feel lifeless. Unless this is the affect you were trying to capture, it can make the viewer feel disconnected from the picture. Everything in it combines itself to one creative masterpiece. You have, once again, outdone yourself.
